Copay, deductible, in/out of network... what does it mean?
Navigating the insurance world can be confusing and daunting. Often, insurance companies require that you pay a certain amount (“deductible”) of medical/mental health costs in a given year before the insurance begins contributing. Once you have paid this amount (“met your deductible”), insurance begins to make payments to your medical / mental health providers. You may still be responsible for some portion of the cost (“copay” or “co-insurance”). Your insurance benefits differ based on whether your provider has a contract with your insurance company (“in network”) or not (“out of network”). We will help you determine the answers to these questions and find out what you can expect from your insurance company.
-
What if I am "out of network"?
If your insurance company does not have a contract with Our House, it is possible that your insurance will contribute towards the cost of therapy. This can range from the full amount to a small percentage of the cost. It is also possible the cost will not be covered at all by insurance. You will be responsible for whatever cost is decided on between you and the Our House Team based on our sliding scale. We will provide you with a detailed statement that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
-
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We can get creative with you and work within the bounds of your particular financial situation. For example, if your co-pay is higher than what you are able to afford in a given month we can design a payment plan that allows you to pay at a pace that is manageable for you.
-
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept credit, debit, and HSA/FSA cards. If for some reason this payment method does not work for you or your family we will work with you to determine an alternative method of payment.
